Early Learning Kindergarten Party
Every year the Early Learning Coalition (ELC) hosted a special party for the families of kids entering kindergarten at Sarasota public and charter schools next year. START volunteers, joined in the fun by helping with setup, greeting at the door, helping at the activity tables, and serving food.

Sharks Tooth Festival
START volunteers showed up to help Venice Main Street with this fun weekend event held downtown. Members greeted the public and kept the many venues clean and orderly.

Big Waters Land Trust and Evening under the Stars
START was able to support two different nonprofits on April 5th. In the morning, members helped with a fun-filled family festival on the shore of Little Sarasota Bay. This was a free community event sponsored by the Big Waters Land Trust. Later in the day, our seven volunteers supported the State College of Florida Foundation's '‘Evening Under the Stars‘ with setup, registration, selling tickets, silent auction support, and ‘spotters’ for the live auction.

Challenger Baseball
It was a perfect day for baseball and fun as START hosted it 6th Challenger Baseball game on March 22nd!! Volunteers served as baseball buddies and the opposing team. After the game, pizza was enjoyed by all the players.

Maverick's Rhythm and Rave
The State College of Florida Foundation sponsored the Maverick's Rhythm and Rave community outreach event on March 15th to attract potential future students and their families to their Venice campus. Our volunteers helped at the check-in table, passed out event bags and sold raffle tickets.

Celebrating Mardi Gras
START members supported Family Promise with their Celebrating Mardi Gras Fundraiser held March 1st. Working in two shifts, the volunteers helped with the event set up and with handing out children's material during the event.

Resurrection House
Two of our members recommended adding ‘Resurrection House’ to our list of nonprofits to expand our support of the homeless community. START has been collecting donations and is also collaborating with the Venice YMCA. Since January, the members have made nine deliveries of donated sneakers from the YMCA’s collection kiosk!!

Special Olympics
START members helped with the Special Olympics Cornhole Competition.
Venice Chamber Nonprofit Rally
START participated in the Venice Chamber Nonprofit Rally. It was such a fun way to 'tell' our story to potential members and other nonprofits.
