START members helped with the Osprey Nokomis Chamber of Commerce Tribute to Community Care breakfast. This annual event was once again held at the Paradise Grill in Nokomis, to recognize area nonprofits who are making a difference. START received a check from ONCC for $400, which we will donate to a worthy nonprofit, and a gift basket from one of our sponsors, Liberty Savings Bank. BUT we were also the recipients of a very unexpected honor; START was recognized by ONCC as this year's recipient of their Community Care Award!!! Such an honor for our members and organization.
On May 3rd, START participated in the North Port Newcomer's Day as a way to get out the word about START.
